Cambodia Casinos
There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is banned. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime area, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 1700, and even though visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that contains many amenities aside from the gambling den, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
